Once beyond the surrounding area of the Inn, all was quiet. I stalked far and wide for some sign of Sharidia; anything that would give me a clue. I searched myself into exhaustion, worn by my worry and my growing anger. Finally, I knew I had to rest. I curled up in the lower branches of an elm tree. As I settled into the crook of its branches, I glanced up at the moon, sending a silent prayer for Krolaun's safety."Psst!"
Something moved in the brush below the tree I perched in, and I could see someone motioning.
"Who's there?" I said, drawing my Dagger.
"I bring only a message."
I slipped down out of the tree, landing softly on the ground. I looked at the newcomer, "What do you have?" He handed me a scroll and vanished, leaving me there standing with it. Carefully, I opened it and read the contents.
Katja: If you have any bravery in you, meet me at the place where time stops and magic roams free.
There was no doubt as to whom this message was from. "The place where time stops and magic roams free. . ." I mused.
I shook my head, not understanding, but as I stood there, a Gate opened to my right.
Enter if you dare.
I did not hesitate for a moment. I stepped through the portal, and the momentary sensation of falling hit me.
