Ylena Dyanne Armitanis was the third-born child of Garador and Lyashien Armitanis. From the moment of her birth, they knew she would perform a great service to the Nation. The patch of fur between her shoulderblades in the shape of a perfect star foretold it, a star-mark being a heavenly sign to the Tyberan.
When Ylena was four, she began reading everything she could get her hands on. What she could not read herself, she demanded to have read to her. Her fervor for knowledge was insatiable. Yet, along with this craving for knowing was the need to nurture. She was a kind and gentle child, always willing to lend a hand or chat with the servants. Everyone on the grounds adored Ylena.
On Ylena's tenth birthday, she was sent by her mother, Lyashien, to the Sect of Sekhmet to learn the ways of a Priestess. However, Lena was repulsed and frightened by the teachings of the Sect. The ideas of hatred, of superiority, of the right to eradicate other races; all these were confusing to Ylena. Something within her rebelled at the ideas. Yet, she stayed, she remained to do her mother proud.
